omg thank god there’s finally a Heimdall appreciation post!

Being that Heimdall is over a thousand years old, I think Coulson is the Heimdall of Midgard.

I kind of want a fic with Coulson and Heimdall being bros.

Like, Coulson did his research once he found out that Asgard is real and periodically looks up at the sky like, “Can you believe the people I have to work with?” and somewhere, off in Asgard, Heimdall shakes his head like “I know those feels, bro.”

And may the powers that be help the forces that piss off Heimdall and Coulson at the same time. Bad things happen.

My head canon is that each of the Avengers ends up with core group of fangirl/boys, like Natasha’s (or the one she acknowledges) are teenage girls mainly who see her as their hero, little boys love the Hulk, but Thor? Little girls between like the ages of 4 and 10, cause dude he is a Prince, who rides on a rainbow bridge, and is basically the fairy tale prince in real life. And Thor fucking loves it. His room at the Tower is just plastered with drawings they send him, and he tries as hard as he can to respond to each and every letter he gets. 

HEADCANON ACCEPTED.

And Clint and Tony would try to tease Thor about it but he’s just so proud of all his little fangirls and of the drawings and other things they send him and he’s so earnest about it that Clint and Tony end up more than a little jealous.

I AM SO OKAY WITH THIS IDEA

and oh man I just picture him meeting one of his little baby fans and they have their own little baby mjolnir and he asks her if she’d like to hold the real one, and her eyes get all big because what?? only thor can hold mjolnir! she knows that!! So he crouches down next to her, gently holding her hand as it holds mjolnir so that even though he’s the one holding the weight, she gets to feel like she’s actually the one holding the hammer and her eyes go half as big as her whole head as grins all big and he tells her ”clearly you are worthy, little warrior!”

Remember when you used to crawl into my bed because of the nightmares?

You always said it was the same thing.

Falling.

But you said it wasn’t like there was anything to land on. Just falling. I didn’t understand, but you shook like a leaf. You said it wasn’t just the falling. It was the sinking feeling of losing everything. Me. Father. Mother. You were ready to cry whenever you had those nightmares.

So I let you sleep with me, under the moonlight, holding my hand. 

Your eyes were wide and glossy, looking for something. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so afraid in my life. But I grinned just to make you feel better and said, “If you feel like you’re falling, just squeeze back. I’ll be here. I’ll always be here brother…”

And you’d fall right to sleep.

Now, it is I who has nightmares. Not of falling.

But of letting you go…
